The practice of Family Law covers a wide range of legal actions as you will see below. No family law matter needs to be hostile or lengthy and I try to avoid that, but sometimes parties to a case have such disputes that the Court must decide the issues. My goal is to provide you with a fast and efficient solution to your legal problem. Trial is not always the answer and often makes the situation worse; especially in custody cases. As nice as it would be to settle everything amicably, that is not always possible, but the Court System provides many channels to settle the matter before a trial. In the event there are issues that need to be determined by the Court or your issues cannot be resolved through mediation, we will prepare your case to go to Court.
At the initial consultation we will discuss your situation and I will advise you of your options and legal rights. Just because a lawsuit is filed does not mean that you will end up going to court and having a trial; some matters settle and a Court Order is obtained by agreement of the parties without you having to spend any time in Court and for those issues that cannot be agreed upon, we will have those heard by the Court or by a mediator.
